Speech Title: IoT Enabled Technology in smart Healthcare: IoMT Applications, Achievements & Challenges

Abstract: The latest advances and trends in Artificial intelligence (AI) played a remarkable role in the smart healthcare sector. Artificial intelligence (AI) has undeniably developed in recent years to become one of the hottest innovations incorporated into all kinds of applications and intelligent networks such as control, healthcare, natural language analysis, automated systems, connectivity and networking, and cybersecurity.

These innovations led to the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) which provides a continuous, remote and real-time monitoring of patients. the Internet-of-Medical Things technology connects experts, data and processes through IT systems wirelessly for better care of patients in smart medical systems. Many applications over the past decades have been developed to track patients' physical activity and support the pharmaceutical staff for appropriate rehabilitation. The surgical instruments are connected to the corpses of the patients and related to the cloud paradigm for the processing and review of the health data. Through this assistive technology, the potential of IoMT allows precise diagnoses, fewer errors and lower costs of care, enabling patients to send health information data to doctors. Due to IoMT environment data sharing is easy and there is no need for physical visits to hospitals & healthcare centers that reduces spread of the COVID19 virus.

However, still there are many challenges in the IoMT architectures in terms of bandwidth, flexibility, reliability, data security and privacy, big data, data management, data acquisition, data processing and cost effectiveness, and energy efficiency. This talk will address the IoT enabled technology applications in smart Healthcare and IoMT applications, achievements & challenges.

Biography: Research Prof. Tanzila Saba earned her PhD in document information security and management from Faculty of Computing, UniversitiTeknologi Malaysia (UTM), Malaysia in 2012. She won the best student award in the Faculty of Computing UTM for 2012. Currently, she is serving as an Associate Chair of Information Systems Department in the College of Computer and Information Sciences Prince Sultan University Riyadh KSA. Her primary research focus in recent years is Medical Imaging, Pattern Recognition, Data Mining, MRI analysis, and Soft-computing. She has above one hundred publications that have around 5000 citations with h-index 43. Her mostly publications are in biomedical research published in ISI/SCIE indexed. Due to her excellent research achievement, she is included in Marquis Who’s Who (S & T) 2012.” Currently, she is an editor and reviewer of reputed journals and on the panel of TPC of international conferences. She has full command of a variety of subjects and taught several courses at the graduate and postgraduate levels. On the accreditation side, she is a skilled lady with ABET; NCAAA quality assurance. She is the senior member of IEEE. Dr. Tanzila is the leader of the Artificial Intelligence & Data Analytics Research Lab at PSU and active professional members of ACM, AIS and IAENG organizations. She is the PSU WiDS (Women in Data Science) ambassador at Stanford University and Global WomenTech Conference. She earned the Best Researcher award at PSU for consecutive four years. She has been nominated as a Research Professor at PSU since September 2019.
